How a Private Helicopter Flight in Tokyo Works

Choose the length, send the weights, and be at Tokyo Heliport for the briefing.

  1. Choose 10, 20 or 30

Ten minutes covers the bay and Tokyo Tower; twenty adds Ginza and the Skytree; thirty adds Shibuya and Shinjuku.

  2. Send the Weights

The total limit is 220 kg for three passengers and 300 kg for four, and no one over 120 kg can fly.

  3. Get to Shin-Kiba

Tokyo Heliport is a short bus or taxi ride from Shin-Kiba Station, which is about ten minutes by train from Tokyo Station.

  4. Brief and Fly

The Guide

Flying Private Over Tokyo: Which Length, and What It Costs Each

Ten, twenty or thirty minutes from Tokyo Heliport, and how the private flights compare with a per-person ticket.

For a private helicopter tour in Tokyo, book the flight from Tokyo Heliport run by AIROS Skyview. The helicopter and the pilot are yours, and you choose the length: 10 minutes over Tokyo Bay and Tokyo Tower, 20 minutes over Ginza and the Skytree, or 30 minutes over Shibuya, Shinjuku, Tokyo Tower and the Skytree, with live commentary from the pilot and, on a clear day, Mount Fuji on the horizon. It costs from US$574 for up to three (checked October 2026) for the 10-minute flight, with flight insurance and the gratuity included, and is rated 4.9 out of 5 from 28 reviews.

Reviewers mention friendly staff at the heliport, a safety briefing before take-off and everything on schedule; one who flew the 10-minute route wrote that the usual viewpoints pale in comparison. The draw is the heliport: Tokyo Heliport is at Shin-Kiba on the bay, about ten minutes by train from Tokyo Station and then a seven-minute bus ride, so it fits into a day in the city far more easily than the flights from Chiba.

Ten, twenty or thirty minutes?

The price above is for 10 minutes; the longer flights cost more, and the booking calendar shows each one. Ten minutes is a loop over the bay to Tokyo Tower and back: enough for the Rainbow Bridge, the port and the first look at the city’s size. Twenty takes you north over Ginza to the Skytree. Thirty is the full tour, west to Shibuya and Shinjuku as well, and is the one to choose if you want both towers and the skyscraper districts in one flight.

Private for three, or a ticket each?

Because the private flight is one price for up to three, it gets cheaper per head the more of you fly: about US$287 each for two and US$191 each for three on the 10-minute flight. The Skytree and Tokyo Tower flight is priced per person instead, from US$416 a person for 30 minutes from Chiba, with the price varying by the number of passengers. For one person that is the cheaper way to see both towers; for two or three, compare the total its calendar shows with the private flight’s single price.

Prices and review counts as listed on GetYourGuide in October 2026, not a quote: some flights are priced per person and some per helicopter, and the price changes with the number of passengers, the flight length and the date you pick.

With a car or a hotel pickup

Two other private flights add ground transport, and it shows in the price. The 10-minute flight with a car transfer meets you at Shin-Kiba Station with a guide who speaks English, French or Chinese and drives you to the heliport and back, from US$861 a person. The City Sights and Skytree Private Ride collects you from your hotel for a private flight over Tokyo Tower, the Rainbow Bridge and the bay, from US$1,276 a person; it is not suitable for children under 10, and valid ID is needed at check-in. If you can take the train to Shin-Kiba yourself, the flight above is the better value.

Before you fly

  • Weight. The total limit is 220 kg for three passengers and 300 kg for four, and passengers over 120 kg cannot fly; the weight guide explains why.
  • Pregnancy. Pregnant women cannot join the flight.
  • Weather. If the flight is cancelled for weather, technical or operational reasons you are told by email, and you get a full refund or a new date.
  • Getting there. The Tokyo Heliport guide has the bus from Shin-Kiba Station and the walk.
